Hedi Schoop Art Creations was founded in 1940, in North Hollywood, California, by Hedi Schoop. She made lamps, vases, tableware, planters, ceramic figurines and much more until 1958. Most of the figurines she created had secondary uses as well, like a bowl, soap dish, ashtray etc. They became so popular during the 1940’s, that she had over 50 people working for her and was producing more than 30,000 items a year. In 1958, the Schoop factory was destroyed by fire and she briefly worked with The California Cleminsons, before retiring a few years later.
